What Is PMS?

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is collection of physical, psychological, and emotional symptoms related to a woman's menstrual cycle. Sometimes referred to as PMT, or Premenstrual Tension, the symptoms can be so severe that they are considered disabling or they can be very mild.

PMS is a tricky condition to identify because of the wide variety of signs and symptoms. Though the symptoms may vanish after the menstrual flow starts, they are usually predictable and occur regularly during the two weeks prior to menses.
