A Barrier Contraceptive

Female Condoms Help Protect From HIV/AIDS and STD's.
Female condoms are soft, polyurethane and transparent tubular sheaths that are inserted into the vagina prior to sexual intercourse providing a protective barrier against bodily fluids, including semen, saliva, and blood. This makes it effective during both vaginal and oral intercourse.

Other disadvantages are that they can be noisy without enough lubrication, can slip into the vagina during vaginal intercourse, or into the anus during anal intercourse or can reduce feeling during intercourse. Like all birth control methods, the female condom is works best when you use it correctly. You can make the female condom more effective if you use spermicide or if your partner pulls out before ejaculation.
